Glad Tidings Offices

Square

Nestled at the old industrial district of Section 13, Petaling Jaya, Glad Tidings Church is a visual respite from its dour surroundings. It is strategically located amidst established old industrial neighbourhoods. The brief called for a revamp and upgrade of their obsolete offices due to the growing congregation needs

The main lobby staircase linking its three storeys – Ground Level, Level 1 and Level 2 – is crafted as a spiral with turning steel clad over its existing timber balustrade. Traversing within the office juxtaposed with bright yellow carpet on Level 1 extends to the rear spacious wedding chapel area which is an integral part of the community centre. Ample space has been allotted to facilitate a wide range of activities. This transitional space is caught between the old and the new; the refurbished existing office block and the unfinished aesthetic of Glad Tidings Vision Centre, both structures congregated to form and embrace the courtyard.

Level 1 – The new office interiors backed by a solid timber lattice wall act as acoustically treated panelling with clean modern outlook and comforts. The refurbishment includes a new boardroom, discussion room, communal pantries and other ancillary facilities. Smaller discussion rooms and soundproof pods are for flexible use for discussion & virtual meetings. A dialogue naturally develops from the play of the volume and surfaces tempered by the wood grains, mirror and white, converging to define a bright, contemporary interior kaleidoscope.

Level 2 – Media & Communication Department (MAC), focuses on media planning, multimedia creation, film production and its creativity backboned the organisation. Collaboration space allows flexible usage, two production studios acoustically treated with functionality which can be easily adjusted for optimum lux level and colour temperature, dark room, changing room and communal panty for social gatherings to stimulate creativity in the department.
