Designed with spatial elements maximized for a narrow site, Fabric House is built for two families who treasure above anything else, their privacy. In parallel to that is the need to have unfettered view of the surrounding, especially the forest reserve at the rear of the site. A stretch of garden facing the forest reserve receives the morning sunlight, while the frontage resumes a fortress-like facade. This little pocket of sunshine is also a wind catcher during the afternoon. The concept of the screen juxtaposes visual vulnerability of a fabric light surface against the true characteristics of the marine-grade stainless steel mesh. The occupants remain unseen yet are afforded the view of the streets even through the wire mesh.
